Blubby and Kingbird

Once upon a time there was a hippo named Blubby. She had lots of friends. One day she was walking to the water hole and she saw the kingbird. They started talking and they decided they should be friends. So they talked about their tribes and they thought that each of their tribes should be friends since they were now friends. So they each went home and talked to their tribes. At first both tribes disagreed because they were each ancient enemies. But after a lot of discussing the bird tribe agreed but Blubby’s tribe did not agree since they still didn’t get along very well. But the bird tribe did not give up. Kingbird came to try to make peace with the hippos. But the hippos didn’t listen. When Blubby tried to help Kingbird the king hippo banned Blubby for trying to defend their enemies. So blubby and Kingbird got together and made a plan.

First, they got some sticks and leaves and mud and they put together something that resembled a hippo. So they went there at night held it high in the sky. And Blubby cleared her throat and said, “I am your ancient king! Why have you not made peace with the bird tribe so there will be peace between mighty and small?” And so Kinghippo said to ‘the ancient king’ “but we are ancient enemies why do you tell us to change our ways?” So Blubby said ”we want peace between our lands. I want you to make peace tomorrow and you will be happy!” So Kinghippo agreed to ‘ancient king’ and the next day he came to Kingbird and asked for peace. Of course he agreed and so they honored Blubby and Kingbird for making the peace between the mighty and the small.
